Learn the rest of the story on how local author, Mari D’Albora Datollo, was inspired to write this book about the tragedy that took place right in our home town!

August 11, 1880. Returning from an excursion to the Jersey Shore, two trains carrying several hundred passengers from Philadelphia’s Irish Catholic parishes collide in Mays Landing. Nearly 100 were injured, and 30 will later die of their wounds. No official record of the accident exists, and no one was ever found accountable.

Reservations are required with a $25 per person donation. All proceeds will benefit Taylor Avenue Railroad Stations Renovation Project.. Space is limited and is on a first come , first serve basis. TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED PRIOR TO ARRIVAL due to COVID restrictions.
